Joint account:
An account registered to two or more adult shareholders. A minor may not be a joint tenant.
Joint tenants with rights of survivorship (JTWROS): A form of account registration in which two or more individuals share an undivided interest in an account. In the event of one tenant's death, the surviving tenant(s) automatically inherits the property without the necessity of court proceedings. Jumbo CD: A certificate of deposit issued by banks in amounts of $1 million to $5 million paying higher rates of interest than smaller-denomination certificates. The ability to participate in jumbo purchases is one of the advantages of investing in a money market fund. Junk bonds: Lower-rated, higher-yielding bonds with a credit rating of BB or lower. Home |
